Location information in real-time at the push of a button!

The logistics expert Andres checks the location of transported goods via TomTom WEBFLEET. These devices not only enable the Andres team to view covered distances, driver operation characteristics and working hours information, but it also enables the team to send text messages and order information directly to the TomTom devices in the driver’s cab. This real-time information also provides status information for all orders due to the integrated HD Traffic and IQ Routes technology. This technology also gives information about the estimated arrival time of transported goods. This follows the Andres guideline to reduce any time and energy waster and to use every hour to the optimum on behalf of the customer.

From astonishment to realisation

It’s hardly surprising that Patrick Andres was feeling good about himself as employer when he recently met other logistics service providers. Where larger carrier companies suffer from skills shortage at the moment, the company size of carrier Andres is just right to grow each year in Hanau. The optimized internal logistics add to a good working athmosphere. This is the lesson learned for the manager who recently returned from a workshop at Meyer-Werft in Papenburg. But the entrepreneur from Hanau could not help but being amazed when looking at the ocean liner from nearby. It remains to be seen which ideas he‘ll get from this colossos.

Carrier Andres appoints Transport Manager

Carrier Andres complies with the new pan-European regulation for transport companies [Verkehrszugangsverordnung für Verkehrsunternehmen], which is coming into effect on 4th December 2011 and appoints Patrick Andres as Transport Manager [Verkehrsleiter]. Patrick is qualified by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce to take the responsibility on and has extensive knowledge about all vehicle-related services like maintenance, repair, transport contracts, documentation, accounting, freight distribution and safety inspection. Violations against the transport regulations may result in the revoking of the “accreditation“, according to the EU-legislation 1071/2009. Unfortunately, consistent transborder data is still missing.

We deliver but it does not stop there

A large manufacturer of precision scales does not only care about transport alone. It is of utmost importance to provide an absolute motion-free base for scales to achieve exact weighing results. This means that all weighing tables need to be placed with millimetre accuracy and carrier Andres does it! We have recently placed three 500kg weighing tables exact to the milimetre in a cleanroom – after the doorframe had been altered to enable the delivery of the tables in the first place. Our customer was so excited that he ordered three further tables from the manufacturer.

Good organisation has top priority in logistics

It’s correct that some printing machines won’t fit on a truck or two. In this particular case it actually took eight trucks. To get a machine of this magnitude to Madrid on schedule for its assembly at a certain time, all necessary papers and truck journeys need to be perfectly planned and alligned. In this case, carrier Andres coordinated the credit handling with the bank. International transport requires that the whole job has to be noted in the required CRM letter of consignment. Keeping the transport on time was also of utmost importance. Job well done!

Carrier Andres works truely internationally. A media-engineering manufacturer from South-West Germany received an order from a company in Dubai to send a machine to its Syrian customer. The machine, first stored in Hanau, then wrapped and equipped with all necessary customs clearing documents, has already arrived via ship at its destination without any complications.

Welcome to the Oktoberfest at the Main river

oktoberfest_01The visitors of the Oktoberfest in Eddy Hausmann’s beer hall were probably not aware that the transport of the floor of the huge tent was in the capable hands of the Andres team. The mega event started on 22nd September and hosted up to 2,500 people underneath its solid roof.

Well organised all around

Stand still, wait around, turn a deaf ear – the exact opposite happens at carrier Andres. The vehicle tracking runs completely via Mobile Objects. There is a partner at every customs office, whose primarily role it is to avoid any mistakes when processing import transactions. One Andres team member completed a training course to become an authorised person for airfreight security in order to further improve the processing of air freights. Cross-border special transport become increasingly part of the standard repertoire of carrier Andres owning eight Euro-5-trucks, 16 CODE XL certified trailers, seven employed drivers and eight carrier companies who drive for carrier Andres on a daily basis.

Container traffic – superior efficient

container_trafficFrom now on, Andres transports all kinds of containers. It can now deal with orders which are not purely transported on the road, but also with multimodal transports via ship or train. By using container chassis on all Andres trucks it is now possible to achieve a transport weight of up to 30 tons.

This proves to be more economic – and thanks to reduced fuel costs also more environmentally friendly. Carrier Andres operates according to its motto: safe, reliable and clever. A well-rehearsed team takes care of your freight enquiries.

Focus on Specialisation – Andres advices

Bayern-Innovativ_02 74f06466f4

About 100 interested visitors of the event „Kooperationsforum“ of Bayern Innovativ listened to Patrick Andres who shared his insight about what makes mid-sized transport companies operate successfully.

His motto is to sidestep the mainstream competition through specialisation and to demonstrate the own abilities through flexible, safe and sustainable performance. He painted a future model that implies highly-productive cooperations and an intelligent handling of fixed costs in the industry in his well-received speech. Innovations are necessary in several respects, according to Patrick Andres. A company has to measure itself against clear benchmarks, has to actively use the internet as a distribution channel and has to serve the market with its niche USP (unique selling point).

The size and type of the truck fleet is not crucial anymore for the haulage manager, but the complete service package: “If the transported goods have to go through customs, be assembled at destination point while reducing downtime to a minimum, then a transport company rightfully earns good money for such a service package.“ The key is to make sure to provide additional value for customers through networks, cooperations and the use of cutting-edge technology and to communicate this effectively and convincingly.
